# Will my order include sales tax? How is it calculated?

Items sold by Brookes Publishing Co., and shipped to destinations in the following states* are subject to sales tax:

- Washington

## How Sales Tax is Calculated

If an item is subject to sales tax in the destination to which the order is shipped, tax is generally calculated on the total net price of each individual item, after any applicable discount is applied. In accordance with state tax laws, shipping and handling charges may also be taxable.
