Inclusive Classroom Profile™ (ICP™)
The Inclusive Classroom Profile (ICP) is a comprehensive, field-tested observational tool that assesses the quality of inclusive practices. A one-of-a-kind tool for classrooms serving children with disabilities in early childhood settings, the ICP assesses 12 key practices with the strongest research base for supporting the education and development of young children in inclusive programs. The ICP takes about 3½ hours to complete, plus 20 minutes to score.
ICP training options include:
- ICP Overview Session: This half-day training introduces participants to the Inclusive Classroom Profile and provides information on how to administer and score the ICP. The Overview may be held virtually or in-person.
- ICP Classroom Observation Reliability Session: During this four-day training, participants complete four classroom observation visits to pre-K inclusive classrooms with an ICP-certified trainer. After each observation participants take part in debriefings with an ICP-certified trainer and assess their reliability proficiency. Participants who successfully complete the training are awarded the Certification of ICP Reliability. Reliability trainings are conducted in-person only and are scheduled on-site at a location chosen by the hosting organization. No more than three participants can participate in the same Classroom Observation Reliability training, and it must be taken within 30 days of an ICP Overview Session.
- ICP Overview Session + Classroom Observation Reliability Session: This five-day training combines the ICP Overview Session and Classroom Observation Reliability Session.
