# Prevent-Teach-Reinforce for Young Children (PTR-YC): An Individualized Model of Positive Behavior Support

## Overview

PRT-YC is a framework for assisting young children exhibiting challenging behaviors through an individualized approach.

### Key Components

1. **Prevent**: Proactively addressing potential behavioral challenges before they arise.  
2. **Teach**: Explicitly teaching appropriate behaviors and social skills to children.  
3. **Reinforce**: Using positive reinforcement strategies to encourage desired behaviors.

### Implementation Steps

- **Assessment**: Conduct initial evaluations to identify the specific needs of each child.  
- **Individualized Plans**: Develop unique behavior intervention plans tailored for each child based on assessment findings. 
- **Collaboration**: Engage families and educators in the planning and implementation processes.
